assages Between the Past and Future is an
exhibition of original writings and images from the children of the Bedouin village of Abu Kaf in southern Israel (Negev). It was conceived
by American educator and Fulbright Scholar Kim Frumin and was supported by the Museum of Bedouin Culture's principal curator, Orna Goren,
and gallery curator, Chavi Feingold.
The project aims to empower Bedouin children to use cameras to create individual self-portraits and portraits of their communities,
challenging the children to articulate their hopes and dreams and to reflect upon the strengths of their culture. The photographs have
been used as educational tools, enabling Bedouin youth to share their perspectives with a larger audience.
Today, the children's work is traveling around the United States in an exhibition that provides a unique look at
Bedouin life in southern Israel (Negev). This CD-ROM serves as a promotional tool for both the exhibition and the project itself.
