he tactile nature of this artist's work eludes the traditional
stark presentation for art. Growth-and-Abundance as well as
Death-and-Decay are the subjects of her work. Faune tells their
story through a textured archiving of the natural world around
us. Each piece is not only about, but in fact drips with, the
effluvia that makes up life. She forces nature to take a hand in
the making of its own portrait: sun-prints, rotted paper, beewax
glazes. Faune then weaves these together with an innocent
handi-craft from another era. She is the curious 19th-century
collector gathering interesting specimens from her garden,
capturing botany in needle-point and cottage craft.
This preview-site is a small tease of some of Faune's fine art
pieces. Like the mini-CD we also created for Faune, the
presentation allows nature to set the stage for her work. Detail
